Step 2: Purchase a GORE-TEX repair kit. (Kit contains 2 patches) £7.00 Jackson-Sports
Step 3: Wash the area around the hole and allow to dry fully. (If the holes are frayed use nail varnish to harden the material before adding the patch. This acts as a glue to hold the material together so the patch holds better)
Step 4: Measure the patch against the holes. (If cutting a patch use rounded edges to prevent the patch lifting.)
Step 5: Remove back from the patch and place it across the damaged area. Use an Iron on Medium heat for 30 seconds. Use a circular motion to apply heat evenly to the patch.
Step 6: Allow the patch 12 to 24 hours to dry.
Step 7: Try not to fall of the bike again!
If this fails there is a company that can repair the jacket.
The patch would work on the inside yes. Most people put it on the inside if it is a clean tear. The problem I had was the type of holes. They burnt through the material causing holes rather than tears. The material was frayed leaving the risk of it catching and tearing more.
ResponEliminaThe patches are great to have and I will carry them with me for the future.
